Pokemon Coloring Pages pdf

I’m James, and I have two wonderful children, Lisa and Mike. I was employed to teach in a private school. I love sharing fun and creative activities with the GreenColoring community to help kids learn and grow. Everyday life includes coloring, and if your kid is like mine, they will love these Pokémon coloring pages!

Colors are fun, but they’re also great for helping kids develop their creativity and motor skills. We spent the whole afternoon last week coloring Mike’s favorite Pokémon, Bulbasaur. He proudly blended different shades of green to make what he called his “ultimate jungle Bulbasaur.” In the meantime, Lisa, who is always creative, gave her Jigglypuff sparkles and a muted pink color. As I watched them get lost in their imaginations, I thought about how coloring can help kids express themselves, learn to concentrate, and even relieve stress—yes, even for little ones!

Why Pokémon Coloring Pages Are a Must

If you’re wondering why we love Pokémon coloring pages (and you will too), here it is:

  • Improves fine motor skills: Holding crayons and carefully coloring pictures makes little hands stronger, which helps them write better later on.
  • Encourages creativity: Kids can use bright colors to make their own Pokémon, which helps them be creative. Pikachu in rainbow colors? Not a problem!
  • Mind-calming: Coloring is a great way to relax after school or before bed.
  • A fun thing to do with your family: we love coloring while talking about our Pokémon adventures.

Genius Hack: Make Your Own Pokémon Evolution Set

Lisa loves using different shades of the same Pokémon to show different stages of evolution. Starting with a light yellow Pikachu, then a slightly darker Raichu, and finally an Alolan Raichu that stands out for being very bright. It’s an easy and fun way to teach kids about improvement and change!

Safety First: A Few Coloring Tips

Here are a few quick safety tips before you start coloring these free Pokémon pages, which you can get as a printable PDF below:

  • Pick crayons and markers that are safe for kids to use: Kids, especially younger ones like Mike, like to put things in their mouths.
  • Use a comfortable place to work: Kids won’t have to strain their eyes at a table with lots of light.
  • Keep sharp tools out of reach: If you need to use scissors for a craft project, make sure an adult is nearby.

Ready to Color? Let’s Get Started!

Now that you know these tips, get your coloring pencils and get ready to color your favorite Pokémon. There is no wrong way to color Pokémon! You can make a cute Pikachu, a scary Charizard, or a one-of-a-kind Eevee with rainbow colors!

8 Crafts for Kids Using Pokémon Coloring Pages

Pokémon is a favorite in our house. My son Mike is always watching the show, and my daughter Lisa loves collecting anything Pikachu-related. If your kids love Pokémon too, you will love these fun and creative craft ideas! And do not forget, I have published 10 free Pokémon coloring pages in PDF format that you can print above this article to use in these crafts.

1. Pokémon Shadow Puppets

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Black construction paper
  • Wooden craft sticks
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Flashlight

Steps:

  1. Before cutting out the outlines, pick and color your preferred Pokémon on regular paper. Mike wanted Gengar since he thought it would look great in the dark; Lisa chose Eevee.
  2. Carefully cut the silhouettes from the cut-out Pokémon onto black construction paper. Though Lisa loved adding extra detailed silhouettes, this section requires some patience.
  3. Glue or tape will let you attach each Pokémon cutout to a wooden craft stick. Glue sticks proved to be most effective in maintaining their sturdiness.
  4. Create a dark room, then shine a flashlight against a blank wall or bedsheet. Hold up the shadow puppets to design your own Pokémon journey. Complete with sound effects, Lisa and Mike fought Pikachu and Charizard one evening.

Pro Tip: Try moving the flashlight either closer or farther away to vary the shadow size. Using a big cardboard box with a white paper screen will also allow you to create a small Pokémon theater!

2. Pokémon Bookmarks

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Laminating sheets (or clear tape)
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Let your child first pick and color a Pokémon character from the free printable pages. Usually, I print several different ones so Lisa and Mike have choices.
  2. Once colored, meticulously cut out the Pokémon. Hold the paper steady for your child and direct their hand if they are still learning to use scissors.
  3. To form the basis of the bookmark, cut a rectangular strip from cardstock. It ought to be rather bigger than the Pokémon cutout.
  4. Glue the Pokémon either on the bookmark’s top or middle. Lisa enjoys arranging hers such that the Pokémon’s ears clearly show at the top!
  5. Laminate the bookmark to increase its lifetime. Covering it with clear tape works just as effectively if you don’t have laminating sheets.
  6. At the top, punch a hole and run a ribbon across it. This lends a decorative element and makes grabbing simple.
  7. Now, enjoy reading with a friend marking your page with a Pokémon companion!

Pro Tip: Extra fun effects can be added with glow-in-the-dark stickers or metallic pens.

3. Pokémon Wall Art

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Picture frame
  • Markers or watercolor paints
  • Glitter or stickers (optional)

Steps:

  1. Let your youngster choose a favorite Pokémon coloring page. Promote imagination; Lisa once decided Pikachu ought to have rainbow fur, and it looked quite fantastic!
  2. Cut the image to suit the frame’s dimensions once it is completely colored. Try slightly tearing the edges for a creative, fun look if your child wants a distinctive effect.
  3. Use metallic markers or watercolor paints to create a background for the artwork that will be especially unique. It will pop even more if you glitter a little around the margins.
  4. Set the artwork within a frame. Lisa enjoys seasonal switching hers and decorating with different Pokémon based on the time of year.
  5. Put the framed picture in the play area or room of your child. This is a simple approach to accentuate their artistic ability!

Useful Idea: Framing several Pokémon prints will create a Pokémon gallery wall. This creates a themed, fun display!

4. DIY Pokémon Puzzle

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Together print and color a Pokémon page. Let your child add distinctive patterns or a background. Mike once decided to sketch Charizard flying across space—which was rather awesome!
  2. Lay the coloring page on a thick piece of cardboard. Before going on to the next stage, make sure any wrinkles are straightened and let it completely dry.
  3. Turn the cardboard over, then sketch puzzle piece forms on the rear with a pencil. Younger children will find it simpler to put together larger, simpler pieces.
  4. Cut deliberately along the lines to produce puzzle pieces. Let your child cut a few pieces themselves if they are old enough to use scissors responsibly.
  5. Sort the bits and challenge your child to put the puzzle back together. Mike enjoys racing against the clock to see how quickly he might arrange his Pokémon puzzles!
  6. For frequent use, pack the bits in a little bag or box. One can even build an entire set, including several Pokémon characters.

5. Pokémon Masks

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Elastic string
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch

Steps:

  1. Select and color a Pokémon face. Urge children to make their masks stand out with strong, brilliant colors. Lisa once created a pink and purple Bulbasaur in order to match her preferred colors!
  2. Cut out the Pokémon face very precisely, leaving room for eye holes. Draw eye holes first, then children will know where to cut. If necessary, younger children may need assistance with this component; be ready to provide it.
  3. Punch holes on both sides of the mask and fasten an elastic string on. Change the length to let your child comfortably fit his head. If you lack elastic, you could also tie it at the rear with ribbon or yarn.
  4. Let them act as their preferred character while sporting their Pokémon mask. While Mike likes acting as Squirtle, Lisa enjoys sprinting around as Eevee. Occasionally they even pretend to fight between their preferred Pokémon!

Safety Tip: Particularly if your child is running around while wearing the mask, make sure vision is not blocked. Always watch them throughout play.

6. Pokémon Stickers

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Sticker paper or packing tape
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Print and color tiny Pokémon coloring pages fit for stickers. Let children personalize them by adding speech bubbles or small stars. Lisa enjoys making stickers featuring her beloved Pokémon and penning adorable messages on them, such as “You’re awesome!” or “Trainer power!”
  2. Cut the Pokémon shapes precisely. If your child is still learning to use scissors, you can guide them by drawing a thick black marker around the shape. Lisa likes precisely cutting out her stickers; Mike likes rough edges since he says they look “cool.”
  3. Peel off the backing of sticker paper, then begin sticking! Cover the image with packing tape, press it firmly, then cut it out once more. Using this technique, we once created a whole batch of Pikachu stickers, and Mike boldly covered his school notebook with them!
  4. Adorn homemade greeting cards, lunchboxes, or notebooks with the stickers. Lisa enjoys creating Pokémon greeting cards for her friends. Let the children compile sticker collections and trade them like actual Pokémon cards to even make it an interesting game!

Pro Tip: If you wish for reusable stickers, lay a loop of tape on the back instead of sticker paper so they may be removed and repositioned.

7. Pokémon Memory Game

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Pick and color-match two Pokémon pictures that go together. For extra fun, let kids draw their Pokémon with different faces. Lisa once created a set of Pikachu cards with faces that looked happy, sleepy, and surprised.
  2. Cut them out and glue them onto sturdy cardboard squares. If you want them to last longer, laminate them or cover them with clear tape. Mike tends to be a little rough with his games, so I always reinforce them!
  3. Shuffle the cards and lay them face down. Take turns flipping over two at a time to find matching pairs. The player with the most pairs at the end wins! Lisa and Mike love challenging each other, and we often play as a family to see who has the best memory.
  4. For an added challenge, set a timer and see who can find the most pairs before time runs out. We once did a “speed round,” and Lisa surprised us all by beating me and Emily!

Fun Tip: Give each match a “trainer point”—the first player to reach 10 trainer points gets to pick the next family game!

8. Pokémon Window Clings

Materials Needed:

  • Pokémon coloring pages
  • Clear plastic sheet protectors
  • Puffy paint (black and colored)

Steps:

  1. Trace the design by laying a clear plastic sheet over a Pokémon coloring page. While Mike always goes for his preferred, Squirtle, Lisa enjoys collecting detailed Pokémon like Charizard.
  2. Create outlines with black puffy paint. Let it dry for a few minutes before adding colored puffy paint to the design. Let your children mix colors if they enjoy experimentation. Lisa once combined blue and purple to produce a special impact for Gengar.
  3. To avoid smudging, let the paint dry overnight. Lesson learned: we used to get impatient and touch them too soon!
  4. Peel the dried cling carefully from the plastic sheet and stick it onto a window. Sort them to produce an exciting Pokémon battle scene! Lisa and Mike once made a “Pokemon Gym Battle” on our sliding glass door, depicting Pikachu as facing off against Bulbasaur.
