7 Crafts for Kids Using Paraglider Coloring Pages

Hi, I’m James, a former private school teacher, proud dad of two (Lisa and Mike), and creator here at GreenColoring. I’ve always thought that letting kids be creative is one of the best ways to make them happy and sure of themselves. Because of this, I’ve put together 7 craft ideas using paraglider coloring pages that are fun and will help your kids improve their fine motor skills, creativity, and ability to tell stories. These hands-on activities are great for the weekend, rainy afternoons, or even mornings when the kids aren’t in school.

In addition, you can discover ten paraglider coloring pages in PDF format just below this post. Feel free to download and use them at your leisure.

1. Paraglider Window Art

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Transparent plastic sheets or recycled clear file covers
  • Markers or permanent pens
  • Scissors
  • Tape or suction cups

Steps:

  1. Download and print out one of the paraglider coloring pages to begin. These are free to download as PDFs below this article.
  2. Invite your child to color their paraglider using vibrant shades. Lisa picked her favorite pinks and purples and even added glitter markers for extra sparkle. It turned into a colorful masterpiece!
  3. Carefully cut out the paraglider shape. If your child is younger, like Mike (who is 6), make sure to help with the scissors. He loves the coloring part but still needs a bit of help with cutting.
  4. Place the cut-out beneath the clear plastic sheet and trace it using permanent markers. This gives the artwork a stained-glass effect.
  5. Once the tracing is done, you can add details like birds, clouds, or even a rainbow. Lisa added her dream Hello Kitty balloon floating nearby!
  6. Tape the plastic sheet to a sunny window or attach suction cups to display it.

Fun Tip: Use glow-in-the-dark markers for nighttime surprises! Your paraglider will glow softly when the lights go out.

2. DIY Paraglider Windsock

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Glue stick
  • Crepe paper strips
  • Hole punch
  • String
Steps:
  1. Start by printing and coloring your paraglider coloring pages. Lisa always picks soft pastels, while Mike goes all in with green and blue. Last month, he insisted it was “Sonic’s paraglider” and even added lightning bolts.
  2. Once your paraglider is fully colored, cut it out carefully. Younger kids might need some help here. Emily often helps Mike with the tricky edges.
  3. Wrap and glue the paraglider art around a toilet paper roll. Make sure the paper is flush so it doesn’t peel.
  4. Use a hole punch to make two opposite holes near the top edge of the roll. Thread a piece of string through the holes and tie it into a loop for hanging.
  5. Cut several long strips of crepe paper (about 10–15 inches) and glue them around the bottom edge of the roll. Lisa likes mixing pink and purple for a fairy-sky feel.
  6. Once dry, hang your windsock near a window or on the porch. Mike hung his on our balcony, and on a breezy spring morning, he yelled, “Look! It’s flying!”

Fun Tip: Add a dab of lavender or orange essential oil inside the roll. The scent is released when the windsock flutters in the wind. Lisa said it “smelled like a flower on a flying cloud.”

3. Paraglider Lacing Card

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Hole punch
  • Shoelace or yarn
  • Clear tape

Steps:

  1. Let your kids color their paraglider boldly. We use thick markers or crayons so the lacing doesn’t hide the design. Mike once used his whole green crayon for one glider!
  2. After coloring, help them cut out the paraglider. I usually cut for Mike while he names his glider something like “Captain Cloud.”
  3. Use a hole punch to make small holes evenly spaced along the outline of the paraglider.
  4. Wrap the end of the yarn with clear tape to make it stiff, kind of like a shoelace tip. This makes threading easier for small hands.
  5. Show your child how to lace in and out through the holes. Lisa created a rainbow zigzag pattern once that looked like magical ropes. It’s a calm activity that really builds hand-eye coordination.

Pro Tip: Try glow-in-the-dark yarn for a bedtime-friendly craft. When we turned off the lights, the outline glowed like a floating spaceship. Mike gasped!

4. Paraglider Wall Story Scene

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Colored paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Cotton balls
  • Crayons or markers

Steps:

  1. Let your children begin coloring the paraglider first. Lisa usually adds pink hearts and swirls. She once remarked, “My glider flies across dream clouds and belongs to Princess Skyheart.”
  2. Help them cut it out and glue it onto a piece of colored paper once it has been colored. For a background, sky blue looks great; one time Mike chose orange and referred to it as a “sunset sky from Mars.”
  3. Encourage them to draw or add background elements. Lisa draws peaceful mountain lakes and rainbows, while Mike prefers adding dinosaurs and alien spaceships.
  4. Pull apart cotton balls and let them glue fluffy clouds around the paraglider. This tactile step adds dimension and is always fun. Lisa pretended to be a cloud decorator, placing each one “just right.”
  5. On the side of the page, help them write a short story. Lisa’s was about a rescue mission in a snowy mountain, and Mike’s had his glider outrunning a giant spaghetti monster. I still have both stories pinned to our fridge.

Helpful Tip: Keep these story scenes and rotate them every week on your fridge or wall. It boosts their confidence and shows that their stories matter.

5. Paraglider Paper Spinner

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Paper fastener (brad)
  • Cardstock paper
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Steps:

  1. Let your kids color a paraglider using bold colors and thick outlines. Lisa loves to make her glider match her Hello Kitty pens, all pinks and purples.
  2. Use a plate or round lid to trace a large circle on cardstock. Lisa once traced a heart-shaped tray, which gave it a lovely twist.
  3. Cut out the circle and decorate it with spirals, stars, or stripes. Mike covered his in “Sonic blue” and little lightning bolts.
  4. Glue the paraglider near the edge of the circle so it looks like it’s flying in a loop.
  5. Carefully poke a hole in the center of the circle and another in a plain sheet of paper. Connect them with a brad so it can spin.
  6. Now spin it and watch your paraglider fly in circles! Mike spun his so fast he declared, “It’s doing a tornado loop!” and tried to race it.

Pro Tip: Add reflective tape or foil stars. When spinning under a lamp, it creates a mini light show that mesmerizes kids.

6. DIY Paraglider Bookmark Buddy

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Jumbo paper clips
  • Glue
  • Tape

Steps:

  1. First, reduce the size of the paraglider coloring pages by about 30%. Then, print them. They are the perfect size for bookmarks because of this. Lisa came up with the idea first. “Daddy, the gliders are too big for my fairy tale book!”
  2. Let the kids color the mini paraglider images using bright pens, crayons, or markers. Lisa uses glitter pens and once added a crown to hers, naming it “Queen Flyer.” Mike gave it fangs and called it “Monster Glide.” Their imaginations take flight here.
  3. Cut out the small paraglider images. This step requires adult help, especially for younger kids like Mike. He usually lines up the paper clips and gives each a name while I do the tricky cutting part.
  4. Glue the paraglider to the top of a jumbo paperclip. Hold it firmly for a few seconds to make sure it sticks. This is a great moment to teach patience and hand pressure.
  5. Add a strip of clear tape on the back to keep it extra secure. We learned this after Lisa’s bookmark came apart in her backpack. Now she reminds Mike, “Tape makes it strong like a super-glider.”

Fun Tip: Make themed sets of bookmarks for different books. Lisa made a “sleepy cloud” glider for bedtime stories and a “fire zoom” one for action books. For more bookmark project examples, check out Scholastic’s Kids Craft Corner.

7. Paraglider Puppets

Materials Needed:

  • Paraglider coloring pages
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glue
  • Safety scissors
  • Markers

Steps:

  1. Have your kids color their paraglider coloring pages freely. Mike loves turning his into superhero machines with flames on the sides. He once said, “Mine has turbo firepower,” and zoomed it around the kitchen table.
  2. After coloring, help them carefully cut out the paraglider. Mike is still learning, so I guide his hand while Lisa offers encouraging tips. Once cut, glue each paraglider onto a popsicle stick. We sometimes decorate the sticks with glitter glue or stickers to give them “magic handles.”
  3. Now it’s time to build a background. Use markers, paper scraps, or even stickers. Lisa once drew a countryside with rolling hills and happy sheep. Mike made a volcano erupting marshmallows, complete with a parachuting lion. Their giggles filled the room.
  4. Use the puppets to act out mini plays. One rainy afternoon, Lisa’s glider rescued a unicorn trapped on a cloud, while Mike’s glider tried to chase it away in a pirate blimp. Emily and I sat on the couch clapping like it was a Broadway show.

Helpful Idea: Use a cereal box to build a mini puppet stage. Cut a rectangle out of the front and let the kids decorate it with wrapping paper or drawings. Lisa added curtains made of tissue paper. For even more puppet inspiration, visit the National Theatre’s Puppet Resources.
