10 Pig Coloring Pages (Download Free Printable PDF)

Free Pig Coloring Pages for Kids and Toddlers

last week, on a rainy afternoon, my son Mike and I grabbed our crayons and printed some pig coloring pages to brighten up the day. He loves animals, and pigs are one of his favorites—probably because they love rolling in the mud, just like he does when he plays outside! Coloring isn’t just about fun, though. As a former private school teacher and now part of the GreenColoring community, I’ve seen firsthand how simple activities like coloring can help kids develop important skills while keeping them entertained.

Why Coloring Pigs (and Even Goats!) is Great for Kids

Coloring isn’t just for filling in shapes; it’s also a great way to:

  • Motor Skills: Coloring carefully inside the lines with crayons makes little hands and fingers stronger.
  • Thinking Outside the Box: My daughter Lisa always gives her pigs a crown to make them look royal. Mike? He gives them capes and makes them look like superhero pigs!
  • Focus and Relaxation: Coloring helps kids relax and focus on busy days, kind of like a mini mindfulness session.
  • Animal Love: Sure, pigs are fun, but don’t forget about goats! Did you know that goats can climb really well? Kids learn fun things about farm animals when they color them.

Smart Coloring Tips for Parents

  • Pick Out the Right Tools: For little hands, use thick crayons. For older kids who like to draw, use colored pencils.
  • Print Pages of Good Quality: There are 10 free pig coloring pages you can print out in PDF format below this text!
  • Make it a Storytime Adventure: While your kids color, make up a story about a pig farm. Lisa made a princess pig once who ruled over a magical barn!
  • Get kids to mix colors: Show kids how red and white mix to make pink or how brown and yellow make a muddy pig.

Safety First!

Whenever kids use scissors or glue for crafts, keep an eye on them. If you’re using markers, check that they’re non-toxic and washable—trust me, I’ve learned this lesson the hard way with Mike’s “artwork” on the walls!

So, grab those crayons, print the pages below, and let’s get creative! In the next section, I’ll share 10 adorable pig coloring pages that will keep your little artists entertained.

8 Crafts for Kids Using Pig Coloring Pages

Last week, my son Mike and I had a blast creating crafts using pig coloring pages. He loves animals, and pigs are one of his favorites because, as he says, “They roll in the mud, just like me when I play outside!” As a former private school teacher and now part of the GreenColoring community, I love finding creative ways to use coloring pages beyond just coloring. That’s why today, I’m sharing eight amazing crafts you can make with pig coloring pages. And guess what? You can grab 10 free pig coloring pages in a printable PDF right above this article!

1. Piggy Paper Puppets

Materials Needed:

  • Printed pig coloring pages
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Craft sticks
  • Markers or crayons
  • Googly eyes (optional)

Steps:

  1. First print and color your pig coloring page. Mike enjoys working with vibrant colors; occasionally he even adds tiny dots to accentuate their beauty.
  2. Cut the pig slowly. Help younger children with the scissors so they won’t have any mishaps.
  3. Glue or tape the pig on the top from a craft stick. Verify its security to ensure it won’t fall off during play.
  4. Put your googly eyes—should you have them—on the pig for a particularly interesting embellishment. You can use a marker to create eyes otherwise.
  5. Before running a puppet show, let it dry for a few minutes. Mike always makes his pig dance around like it’s in a funny cartoon; Lisa enjoys creating several voices for the pigs.

Fun Tip: Create a whole pig family for storytelling using several pig designs different from the free printable pages above. You might also create a basic cardboard stage for a piggy performance! For more fun puppet craft ideas, visit PBS Kids Crafts.

2. Pig Mask Craft

Materials Needed:

  • Printed pig coloring page
  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Pink paint or crayons
  • Elastic string
  • Hole puncher

Steps:

  1. Let your children first color the pig coloring page. Mike insists on giving her pigs superhero capes, while Lisa likes her pigs glittering pink.
  2. Once colored, meticulously cut out the pig’s face. Gluing the back onto a paper plate for sturdiness helps you reinforce it.
  3. Making two little holes on the sides, use a hole puncher.
  4. After tying the elastic string through every hole, change it to suit your child’s head comfortably.
  5. Cut out eye holes to ensure your small piglet can see clearly while donning the mask.
  6. Let your children don masks and pretend to be playful piggies sprinting about the house. Everybody laughed so hard when we used to play a game where we had to “oink” before speaking!

Pro Tip: Should you lack elastic string, you can also create a fun handheld disguise by tucking a popsicle stick to the bottom. For more creative mask ideas, check out FirstPalette’s DIY Masks.

3. Pig-Themed Greeting Cards

Materials Needed:

  • Printed pig coloring pages
  • Blank cardstock
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Stickers

Steps:

  1. Pick a pig design and use fun, bright colors to color it. Lisa always picks pink and adds hearts. Mike, on the other hand, made a pig that looked like a knight one time.
  2. Cut out the pig carefully, then glue it to the front of a blank piece of paper.
  3. Use stickers, glitter, or any other craft supplies you have at home to make the card look nice. Tell the kids that they can make each card unique by adding their own touch.
  4. Feel free to write a sweet or funny message inside. Lisa really enjoys writing, “Oink, oink!” “Have a nice day!” Mike just draws smiley faces sometimes.
  5. Give the card to a family member or friend. Emily, my wife, still has the pig birthday card that Mike made her. It makes her smile every time she sees it.

Fun Tip: Make a bunch of thank-you or birthday cards with pigs on them ahead of time so you always have a cute homemade option for important events.

4. Piggy Paper Plate Spinner

Materials Needed:

  • Pig coloring pages
  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Fastener pin
  • Crayons

Steps:

  1. Print and color two separate pig faces. While Mike once created a pig that seemed shocked on one side and asleep on the other, Lisa enjoys making one happy and the other silly.
  2. Cut out the pigs, then glue one on either side of the paper plate.
  3. Poke a small hole in the center of the plate and insert a fastener pin.
  4. Hold the edges of the plate and give it a spin to see the pig’s expressions change! The faster you spin, the funnier it looks.
  5. Mike and I once had a contest to see who could spin it the longest without it flying off the table. Spoiler: He won!

Pro Tip: For extra fun, add small speech bubbles to the pigs so it looks like they’re talking as they spin!

5. DIY Pig Stickers

Materials Needed:

  • Printed pig coloring pages
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape or sticker paper

Steps:

  1. Select from your coloring pages small pig designs and vividly color them. Urge children to use several pig designs in a creative way.
  2. Carefully cut out each pig. This is a great way to improve fine motor skills.
  3. If you’re using regular paper, apply double-sided tape to the back to turn them into instant stickers. If using sticker paper, simply cut, peel, and stick! Lisa loved this because she could decorate everything in sight.
  4. Decorate notebooks, water bottles, or even lunchboxes with your piggy stickers. Lisa covered her school folder with pig stickers, while Mike put one on his toy truck! I had to stop him before he stickered the dog.

Fun Tip: Add little speech bubbles to the stickers with funny pig phrases like “Oink-tastic day!” or “Stay muddy and happy!”

6. Piggy Party Decorations

Materials Needed:

  • Pig coloring pages
  • String
  • Tape
  • Hole puncher

Steps:

  1. Print and color a number of the free printable pig coloring pages above. Let young children choose several pig expressions for variety.
  2. Cut out every pig and punch a top hole. Make sure children handle safety scissors.
  3. Weave them together to make an entertaining banner with pigs. Mike just wants his pigs to be silly; Lisa enjoys creating patterns.
  4. Hang them for a farm-themed playdate or a birthday celebration. We did this for a picnic last summer; the children even created a pig dance to entertain. It was truly unforgettable!
  5. Children feel proud and accomplished when they see their handcrafted decorations on show!

Pro Tip: Laminate the pig cutouts if you have time so they will last longer and may be used for the next events!

7. Piggy Puzzle Fun

Materials Needed:

  • Printed pig coloring pages
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • Glue

Steps:

  1. To make a pig last longer, choose a design, color it, then glue it on robust cardboard. Reusing old boxes can be done in a fun approach here!
  2. Once dry, cut the image into puzzle-shaped pieces. Keep the pieces large for younger kids, and make them smaller for a challenge. Lisa made a 20-piece puzzle once, and even I struggled to put it back together!
  3. Mix up the pieces and try solving the puzzle. This activity helps kids with problem-solving and patience. Mike sometimes gets frustrated, so we turn it into a guessing game to see how long it takes to finish!
  4. To keep puzzles organized, store pieces in small Ziploc bags with a printed image of the pig on the front. That way, they can match the pieces later.

Fun Tip: If kids love puzzles, turn it into a friendly family challenge! See who can solve their puzzle the fastest!

8. Farm Animal Collage

Materials Needed:

  • Pig coloring pages
  • Other farm animal coloring pages
  • Large sheet of paper
  • Glue

Steps:

  1. You can print and color pigs and other farm animals like sheep, bulls, and cows. Help kids make their dream farm come true!
  2. Make a fun farm scene by cutting them out and putting them on a big piece of paper. Lisa made a pond for ducks, and Mike gave his pig superpowers by giving it wings.
  3. Put everything down with glue and add things like a barn, the sun, or small fences. Make kids’ dreams come true.
  4. Hang their masterpiece on the fridge or wall! Lisa loved showing hers off to Emily, who always gives the best compliments!
  5. This craft not only helps kids be creative, but it also gets them to tell stories. Mike made a pig ask, “Where’s my snack?” and everyone laughed about it for days.

Fun Tip: For extra fun, give the animals googly eyes to make them look even more darned. Kids love to turn the page over and watch the eyes move around.

From masks, puzzles, and party decorations to greeting cards and stickers, these activities keep children interested while honing motor skills and inventiveness.
